A Sparkly Diamond for a Special Customer

Dear Whiteflash Sales Team,

I just had to write you and let you know how much I love my engagement ring! Dustin proposed last weekend and it was amazing- I hadn't seen the ring at all (or any of the pics) since I last talked with you, so it was a total surprise what it looked like. The diamond is GORGEOUS- really, it is stunning. It sparkles like crazy and has so much fire- it is just putting out color all over the place. I am so happy with the whole ring, and still can't believe we got so much quality for such a great price! You were so helpful throughout the whole process, and I cannot thank you enough. Whiteflash is an amazing company and I will tell everyone that I know to go to you for their engagement purchases.

The I color is fantastic (I really can't notice any tinge of color- it's more a slight warmth at times in certain lighting- otherwise, it looks icy white in most lighting), and I am really enjoying the flouro. I also do not mind the inclusion at all- I can hardly ever see it, and only when I am staring at the diamond from a distance of 2-3 inches away from my eyes (and even then I have to squint my eyes to see it). The diamond setting is gorgeous too- it really displays the diamond in a great way without being too high that I knock it on various things. I still think I might eventually take you up on the offer to shave the prongs if I want a wedding band to sit flush, but maybe I should try on a few before I decide if it's worth it. The whole ring is just elegant and classic- I couldn't ask for anything more!

Again, thanks SOOOOOO much for all of your help- you were constantly attentive and helpful. I have never had such wonderful customer service. Thanks for all that you did to make this ring and proposal so spectacular!

All the best to you always,

Kate

Tips for Choosing the Perfect Engagement Ring

When you're looking for an engagement ring, there are things that you have to consider. Sure, cost is important, but there are things that matter more than money. Will your fiancé love the ring? Is it the right style, size, and shape? What kind of wedding band will it go with? These questions and thousands more are important.

It's also important, however much you pay for the ring, that you get your money's worth. The only way you can really do that is if you understand some things about diamond engagement rings. The ring itself is not that costly. It is the diamond that raises the price, and if you don't know what you're buying you could end up getting cheated. You really can't just pick out something that looks pretty. It's much better to find something that is right for your budget and right for the hand of the lady that you love.

It may seem unromantic to shop for that ring together, but then you'll be certain that you purchase what she really loves.

A Precious Memory for a Whiteflash Customer

Dear Whiteflash Sales Team,

Everything went just as planned this weekend - Allison and I couldn't be happier.  She, and everyone she meets, loves the engagement ring. It's even better than what she had in mind.  She can't get over how graceful the setting is and how beautiful the diamonds are - neither can I. I'd like to thank you and everyone else who helped get this order together.  Every step throughout the purchase was made easy, friendly, and professional.  I'll make sure to spread the word about my wonderful experience with you and Whiteflash.

Many thanks and all the best,

Patrick

Celebrity Slither in Sexy Snake Jewelry

Snake jewelry has been hot in Hollywood for years now, and the trend shows no sign of slowing down. We’ve spotted snake necklaces, snake rings, snake earrings, and snake bracelets on the hottest celebrities, from Madonna to Rihanna. This style is worn by women of all ages, and by movie stars, singers, burlesque models, and celebutantes….the real question may be who isn’t wearing snake jewelry?! Many jewelers started a collection of snake jewelry a few years ago, after we spotted Madonna wearing a charming snake necklace. We knew we were on to something big when we found pictures of Britney Spears wearing an almost identical snake necklace!

Once we knew what we were looking for, we realized that all kinds of celebrities were rocking the snake bling. Kate Walsh and Amanda Bynes have both been spotted wearing versions of the silver snake necklaces that we saw on Madonna and Britney, but other stars are enjoying snake rings, snake bracelets, and snake earrings.

Designer snake bracelets are a hot commodity in Hollywood, showing up on the likes of Paris Hilton and Dita Von Teese. The designs vary from a single snake, looped once around the wrist, to twisted clusters of snakes that form thick cuff bracelets.

Emitations has a variety of snake bracelets, from designer inspired cuff snake bracelets to stretchy, plus size friendly snake bracelets. No matter which style you prefer, we have the faux version for much less than the originals worn by the stars!

We also have love the sexy snake earrings just like those worn by celebs - from long, dangling, diamond studded snake earrings to lever back coiled snake earrings. The most popular snake jewelry trend might not be snake necklaces, snake bracelets, or snake earrings, though. The hottest leading ladies in Hollywood have been sporting some serious bling, in the form of snake rings!

Former wild child Angelina Jolie was ahead of the snake ring trend, wearing a gold snake ring back in 2004. Since then, we’ve seen similar snake rings on other members of the celebrity elite. Supermodel Heidi Klum has a diamond studded snake ring, and Mary-Kate Olsen has a canary and gold snake ring. The ever-popular Jessica Alba even wore multiple gold snake rings to the 2007 Kid’s Choice Awards!

Snake rings are often a bit more subtle than snake necklaces, snake bracelets, and snake earrings. A snake ring can be thin, and the shape lends itself to being wrapped around your little finger. Snake rings are perfect as cocktail rings or right hand rings, so be sure to shop our entire collection of snake rings today!

Don’t forget the new styles in diamond snake accessories, though - twisty metal snake coil necklaces that double as bracelets. The flexible metal snake necklaces are fun, funky, and totally unique. The long, bendable metal snake coil necklaces can be layered, doubled up, or even tripled on your wrist. You can wear a metal snake necklace it as one long strand, or twist it into an abstract shape.

Jewelers has been having lots of fun with the metal snake necklaces, wearing them as thick bracelets, twirled necklaces, and even twisty crowns. Celebrities have been enjoying the metal snake coil necklace trend, also - we’ve seen Hilary Duff wearing one looped around as a necklace, and Rihanna has worn them as intriguing bracelets. Contestants on America’s Next Top Model even wore them for a gladiator inspired photo shoot!

If you’re looking for snake jewelry that will attract attention, and give you tons of looks with just one purchase, our twisted metal snake necklaces are the perfect choice. If you tend to play with your hair or fidget, we suggest trying one of these necklaces on for size. You can occupy your hands by twisting and rotating the jewelry - trust us, its fun!

Many designers have recently expanded our collection of accessories to include clutch purses, handbags, baguette purses, and diamond wristlets. Some of our most popular styles have been - you guessed it - faux snakeskin purses! Chic black, sophisticated tan, and fresh black and white snakeskin purses are favorites of stars like Blake Lively and Hilary Duff. Bright colors have also been spotted, like Whitney Port’s rich green snakeskin bag, or Cameron Diaz’s vibrant orange snake print purse. Shimmery metallic snakeskin purses are in the hands of some of Hollywood’s hottest, like Eva Mendes and Hayden Panettiere.

Since animal cruelty is definitely not in fashion, many celebrities prefer to carry faux snakeskin purses instead of the real thing. That makes it even easier for you to steal their look for less! Many retailers an incredible collection of faux snake print purses, fake snakeskin handbags, and imitation snake skin clutches.

Snake jewelry is best worn in small doses, so try pairing a snake necklace with a matching pair of snake earrings. Or, rock a snake bracelet on each wrist, for a double shot of snake style. For an ultra-chic, high fashion look, wear a metal snake necklace and carry a snake print purse. Not sure what snake jewelry is right for you? Look to your favorite celebrity, and then shop their style at Whiteflash!

Apple Releases Solid Gold, Diamond-Laced iPhone

The latest must-have luxury items seem to not be so much about jewelry, but about gadgets.   It seems that no matter how bad the economy is, people still love their gadgets.  Now, to meet that demand, Apple has released yet another generation of luxury iPhones.  High-end mobile phone designer Stuart Hughes took the trendy item to a new level, creating the world’s first solid gold iPhone 3G.

Made of 22-karat gold, the phone has a jewelry-like finish that makes it as much a fashion accessory as it is a practical phone and internet device.  The Apple logo is made with 53 VVS1 diamonds, adding a further element of luxury.

On the practical side, the solid gold iPhone 3G has the same features as the original 3G device: 16GB memory, WLAN 802.11b/g, 320x480 touchscreen, Bluetooth, 2 megapixel camera, and microphone.  It allows for 10 hours of talk time and will stay charged in standby mode for 300 hours.

Even the case for the phone is extreme.  It, too, is made of 22-karat solid gold and has 53 VVS1 diamonds to create the Apple logo.  The phone is also designed to support every network in the world, so it can go anywhere and do almost anything.  It is truly a gadget-lover’s dream.  The dream, however, costs almost $35,000, and that doesn’t include service.

A Lovely Whiteflash Engagement

Dear Whiteflash Sales Team,

I actually just got home last night from our trip to Japan, and then had quite a return to work today, so your timing is perfect.

I can't thank you enough for all of your help and patience through the process of buying an engagement ring.  Even though I paid more than I've ever paid for anything in my life, I truly feel like I received way more than my money's worth in both service and product.  Rest assured I will recommend you at every opportunity I get.

The proposal went well.  On April 24th we climbed Mount Katsuragi in Gose, Japan.  We were setting up a tripod and taking pictures the whole way up.  When we got to the peak we decided to take a commemorative picture.  I set the camera timer, ran around, got on my knee and the camera caught the reaction. The lone Japanese man had no idea what was going on.

Oh... she said yes.

Thank you SO much again,

Tom

Spring Wedding Flowers

Spring weddings brightly shine with spring blossoms.  The season represents rebirth and new growth, so your flowers should equally reflect this blossoming time. Since spring is a season that goes hand-in-hand with fresh, beautiful flowers, make the most of what will be growing at this time.  By selecting flowers that are in season, not only are you saving money, but it is also the greener choice to support local and seasonal agriculture, and in the end, you often have a much bigger selection to choose from (that isn’t so cost prohibitive).  So what should you be shopping for?  Take a look at some fabulous flowers for your wedding:

One spring favorite is the tulip, which comes in over 400 varieties and colors in spring (but sorry, no blue).  Sweet peas are also a great option and are plentiful, a great bargain for the budget bride, and their light and sweet scent makes for a mild wedding perfume.  Another option is lily of the valley, which is great for an accent or even possibly as a part of a larger arrangement or bouquet (beware as they are delicate flowers).  These small flowers have a distinctive fragrance that many love, and can also be used in boutonnières.  Or consider daisies and bright yellow daffodils, which are quintessential spring and can be a sweet touch in a flower girls hair or on table arrangements.

Multi-colored calla lilies are amazing in this season and are a popular choice - so make the most of them when the price is right.  Roses are also plentiful during most seasons, spring being no exception and since they are the true, classic wedding flower, you can’t go wrong.  Bulbs are very significant to spring themes, and flowers like crocuses, hyacinths, orchids, iris and ranunculus are all great choices too.  If you’re a bit more adventurous, blossoms like ones from apple or cherry trees are a delicate sign of the advent of spring, and full branches can be used as dramatic centerpieces that they anchor within.

Been waiting all year to wed when peonies are readily available?  Then you’re in luck, peonies are plentiful this time of year.  A classic flower, they have a vintage flair and looks amazing as a center focus of wedding design or as an accent flower.  They can be in bud or fully open or a mixture of both, just make sure to specify to your florist since they have such a variety of looks.

So once you have your fauna selected, how will it be designed?  Floral balls, whether hanging or as table adornments are a fun and seasonal option that can be an extension of the polka dot décor you may be considering.  Spring is a more casual laid-back season, so unstructured floral arrangements are a natural choice, as well as very simple designs like a few stems in a basic vase on tables or containers with spring moss and a few blooms.   Think organic, picked out of a garden, fresh and full of life.

As for the bride, nothing is more fitting than a wildflower bouquet filled with colorful local finds.  You can also choose an all-green arrangement, or one bursting with big blooms in either bright colors or pale naturals, as both are great for spring.  Hair wreaths made of seasonal florals and diamond accents are another option to consider.  Simple earthy nosegays are a nice choice for your bridal party, or maybe a more basic design like a few colored Gerber daisies held in the hand as they walk down the aisle.  Whatever you opt for, make it look effortless.

Spring is a great time to use the local bounty that nature has provided to help celebrate your day and represents the new growth that you and your fiancé are about to embark on.  Pay homage to that tradition in the flowers you carry on your very special day.

New Jewelry Collection to Benefit Cancer Research

After working for years, designing diamond jewelry pieces occasionally, sometimes on commission, and for different companies, breast cancer survivor and jewelry designer Neda Behnam is launching her own line.  Diamonds For A Cure (DFAC) will donate a percentage of sales from its diamond jewelry collection to one cause, called Stand Up To Cancer.  This organization is working to find cures for various types of cancers.

Having donated proceeds from her previous work to breast cancer research, Behnam finally decided to create her own business that would benefit different types of cancer.  She says that, “My vision of this name and this idea was that it’s global.  Cancer is something that affects everybody.”

One of the important aspects of Behnam’s collections is that she plans to design for varying markets.  “We want to create something accessible to everyone,” she says.  “Everyone buys diamond jewelry.  To be doing that and giving to a good cause is what we want to promote.”

A veteran of the jewelry industry for 25 years, she divides her work into two collections. The “Symbolic Collection” features diamond rings, diamond earrings, and diamond pendants ranging in price from $299 to more than $2,000.  The “Red Carpet Collection” displays one-of-a-kind pieces and couture designs.

Although the line was released only in March, Diamonds For A Cure is already becoming popular with the rich and famous.  Celebrities ranging from country singer Reba McIntire to Paula Abdul to the young cast of the new “90210” series are wearing DFAC pieces.  Behnam hopes that the general public will become aware of her work soon.  Having celebrities showing it off has been a good start to achieving a known brand name.

Says Behnam of her work: “This is all very close to my heart.  Right now, my biggest dream would be to see cancer eradicated, and Stand Up To Cancer has that vision.”

Madonna Wears Anna Hu Haute Joaillerie to Met Costume Gala

The Annual Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala always draws a crowd of celebrities in their most fashionable couture and dripping with jewels.  This year was no exception.  The theme for the Gala this year was “The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion”, and it brought out its usual amazing—and, often, interesting—array of cutting-edge trends.

No one embodied this more than Madonna, who was dressed in a 1980s throw-back blue Marc Jacobs ruched mini-dress with a puffy skirt, thigh-high black boots, jeweled fingerless gloves, and an inexplicable teal hair piece.  While her attire brought us back to her 19802 “boy toy” days, her jewelry was very much fashion-forward.  Although she is now a practicing Kabbalist, Madonna wore Anna Hu’s “Edelweiss” diamond cross, D color diamonds, at about 6 carats.  She also wore Hu’s “Icy Grapes” earrings, made of natural-colored sapphires, emeralds, rubies, and diamonds, at about 28 carats with pear-shaped drop emeralds.  Both pieces are from Anna Hu’s Giverny Garden Collection.

Also showing off their jewels—borrowed or not—at the annual event were Jessica Biel, in diamond drop earrings; Rihanna, in amazing diamond studs; and Jessica Alba, wearing pear-shaped emerald drops surrounded by diamonds.  Other celebrities in attendance were designer Stella McCartney, Kate Hudson, Liv Tyler, Kate Bosworth, Victoria Beckham, and Tyra Banks.

This year’s event was hosted Justin Timberlake, Kate Moss, Marc Jacobs and Anna Wintour, who worked together to choose the theme for this year’s annual fund-raiser for the charity.  With only 700 tickets available for $6,500 each, all proceeds go to maintaining the museum’s very popular costume collection.  With no permanent them, the museum, instead, chooses a particular designer or era to feature with each exhibition.
